The basis of the CloudRadial Storefront is in the products that populate it.
The Product Details Panel provides all of the information about the selected product. The panel is grouped into separate tabs of information, which we'll describe in detail below.
Accessing a Specific Product Detail Panel
To access the details of a product:
- Select the Search button at the top right of the screen when logged in
- Search for an item in the catalog
- Select the Details button on the right of the specific product you wish to modify
Understanding Product Sub-Tabs
The Product Image
You will see a spot for the product image at the very top-left of the Product Details Panel. If you are using a PSA-only connection, there will likely not be an image.
If you are using a distributor, the image will likely be supplied by them from their product catalog.
You can select this image slot and add your image, which is recommended for any products that you plan on adding to the client-facing Storefront as a featured product. To add the image, you will first need to select the Edit button at the bottom.
Tip: When adding your own image, a 1:1 (square) aspect ratio, and PNG file type is recommended.
Details
The Details tab shows rich marketing information provided by the manufacturer, distributor, or other sources. This information is passed to your quoting tool, storefront, or other systems (depending on 3rd party functionality) when exporting the products.
If you have a PSA-only connection, we recommend you enter a description for items that you plan to feature on your Storefront. This descriptive text will appear on the end-user side of the product shopping experience, and details will help your clients make a better purchasing decision.
Tip: Try using an AI assistant to write your descriptions for you to save time.
Attributes
The product Attributes tab will provide a few different sections.
The first section is Basic Details, such as Manufacturer Part Number, Product Name, Internal Part Number (configurable by you and searchable as a keyword), Product Categorization, and MSRP (if provided). This will be displayed for PSA-only Storefronts as well as distributor-connected Storefronts.
There are also the Attributes, Facets, and Filters tables.
- Attributes are product details that are not searchable, and include things like “System Memory Speed” and “Package Contents”. These are not included in the searchable facets to limit the number of facets shown and are based on user feedback.
- Facets are searchable attributes and are aggregated to keys such as “Processor Type” or “Energy Star Compliant”.
- Filters are searchable numeric attributes like “Weight (lbs)” or “Screen Size (in)”. These are included in range searches.
These are pulled in automatically for distributor-connected Storefronts, but can also be manually added to products and services on PSA-only connected Storefronts.
Tags
Product Tags allow you to set searchable keywords on products and can be used to logically group specific products, such as your Education Systems or Standard Offerings.
You can then search on these with the quick search and filter on these. There are both Global Tags which are searchable for the entire company and My Tags which are user-level and only searchable/visible to you.
Vendor
The Vendors tab of the product details panel will show all of the vendors that carry the product, their current pricing & availability, as well as various details such as VPN (Vendor Part Number), Name (what the vendor’s name for the product is), and any Status messages (discontinued, authorization required, etc.)
Linked Products
Linked Products are cross-sell and upsell items related to the selected product. It can include manufacturer-certified accessories, the services/extended warranties of the product, or alternative products.
They are not available for PSA-only connected Storefronts, as the Linked Products come directly from distributors.
Media
The Media tab will include any additional product images from the manufacturer, if any. Media typically includes additional product angles, marketing images, or internal images for servicing the products.
Notes
Product Notes provide you with a way to add custom notes that are only visible to your users.
- Company Notes are visible to all internal users that manage your Storefront, and searchable as keywords in the search criteria.
- Product Notes are specific to you and can be used for your own sales notes or other information you would like to keep handy.
Storefront Settings
The Storefront tab allows you to add products to your client-facing Storefront, set details such as markup & minimum price, and mark specific products as featured.
- To add an item to the Storefront, you must select the Edit button at the bottom of the Product Details Panel and check the box for it to be Included in a specific store.
- If you want it to appear as one of the six featured items on the home page of the client-facing Storefront, you will need to check off the Featured checkbox as well.
