ClipTraining offers a very modular approach to training featuring courses made up of "clips", or short video tutorials. ClipTraining works well for users who need to learn something from scratch or need help with a single feature.
ClipTraining includes training for all of the Microsoft 365 products, plus end-user training for Cybersecurity Awareness.

How the ClipTraining Integration Works
To show users their respective ClipTraining courses, we first verify those with access to courses by matching the CloudRadial companies with their respective ClipTraining companies. Once that match has been confirmed, the users within matched companies can access their courses directly without needing authentication.
Please note that ClipTraining Portals must exist before setting up the integration in CloudRadial.
- Note: If a ClipTraining course is pushed to a company that has not been matched, they will receive an error message when accessing a ClipTraining course and cannot see the content.
To ensure a good user experience, be sure to closely follow the instructions below as you set the integration up for your tenant.
Step #1: Ensure ClipTraining Portals Exist
CloudRadial will ultimately match each user with their appropriate company training. This training is set and managed from an administrative level within ClipTraining's Portal.
To ensure your CloudRadial end-user training experience is flawless for training, please ensure you complete this step prior to rolling out training to your user base.
For Brand New Partners Purchasing ClipTraining Alongside CloudRadial:
If you are a brand-new Partner of CloudRadial who purchased ClipTraining at the same time as a new CloudRadial subscription, please set up your companies in CloudRadial prior to setting up ClipTraining.
Once you have done so, please email success@cloudradial.com to let your account manager know that you are ready to set up your ClipTraining integration.
For Existing Partners Adding the ClipTraining Courses:
Existing Partners of CloudRadial must work with their account manager to set up the ClipTraining companies. Your account manager will help you reach out to partners@cliptraining.com with your Excel list of companies and users to create inside of ClipTraining.
To create this list:
- Navigate to Partner > Clients
- Select the Users tab
- Click the Download button at the top right to get your Excel spreadsheet
- Remove any companies and users that you don't want created in the ClipTraining portal
Once ClipTraining is notified and has the Excel list, they will help you get your first batch of clients set up for access. They will also help guide you in your ClipTraining administrative management.
As these companies and users are set up, you will be able to link the users back to their courses in CloudRadial from the following steps.
Step #2: Creating Access to ClipTraining Courses
To create access to ClipTraining courses for a seamless user experience, we recommend enabling the Company > Applications area of the Feature Set. Adding an icon to go directly to training is the fastest and most user-friendly way to get to the courses.
If you are so inclined, you can also take the extra step to add the menu item to your home page to make it even easier to access for your end users, like so:
To add the ClipTraining link for all users:
- Navigate to Partner > Content
- Select + Add to add a new content package
- Create a content package with the following settings:
- Content Type: Menus
- Name: Your choice, but we recommend ClipTraining
- User Groups: Everyone
- Description: Optional, your choice. None needed.

Company Groups: All
- Select Submit to finalize the content package creation
- Once created, use the + Add button to build a menu item to the package
- Category: Your choice, but if you want it to be in the same grouping as other menu items you have, you'll need to name it the same thing.
- Name: Your choice. We recommend something generic, like Microsoft 365 Training, but it's up to you to package and serve the training in a manner that fits your clients.

URL: @ClipTraining
- It is critical that the URL is exactly @ClipTraining, as this is the trigger to SSO users to the ClipTraining portal.
- All of the rest of the choices, like the iconography and display order, are to your preference.
- Select Submit to finalize your selection
- Once your link has been created, select the Publish button at the top to push out the link.
The link to access ClipTraining courses will now appear within the Company > Applications area for companies. If you want to take the extra step to add it to your home page, watch this video to create a modified home page that makes it even more prominent.
Step #3: Enabling Specific Companies to ClipTraining Courses
Once you've created access to ClipTraining courses, the next and final step is to ensure the appropriate companies in CloudRadial see the appropriate courses in their ClipTraining portal.
To do so:
- Navigate to Partner > Clients in CloudRadial
- Use the 3 blue-dot menu to Edit the company you've set up in the ClipTraining portal
- Select the Integrations tab
- Enter their ClipTraining portal name assigned in the ClipTraining administration dashboard
- Be sure to only enter the portal Name/subdomain assigned in the ClipTraining administration dashboard (no URL details).

Ex: For https://acme.cliptraining.com, enter only acme
- Select Submit at the bottom to finalize your settings
Users in ClipTraining-connected companies can now access their courses when clicking the button created in Step 1.
(Optional) Adding ClipTraining Courses to the University
Accessing courses through the menu applications is the best (and most recommended) user experience. However, if you want to add a specific course to the University > Courses area, you can do so as well.
As long as the company you're adding courses for has been connected to their ClipTraining company as described in Step #2, you can do the following:
- Navigate to a specific company's University > Courses area
- Select + Add to build a new course
- When adding a new course, set your Category and Name to your preferences
- Set your Course Type to ClipTraining
- Now, select to either access the Home Page, Course, or Channel

Note: Selecting Course or Channel will require you to list the name of either with an exact match. If the course or channel is found and the user has access, the user will be able to use the course as a launch point to go directly to that area
- Make sure to add a Lesson from the top tab to trigger the start of the course
- Select Submit to finalize the creation of the course
Now, users in that company will be able to access your specified selection from within the University > Courses area of CloudRadial.

Can I create specific links to courses and lessons from the menu applications?
- Yes - in a menu item, the following tokens are supported, with the pipe separator | used to differentiate courses and channels. Examples:

Is course completion training tracked from ClipTraining courses?
- Not at this time from within CloudRadial. For now, ClipTraining course completion is best tracked within the administrative portion of ClipTraining.
Do I need to set up a company in ClipTraining before I set them up in CloudRadial?
- Yes, you must ensure that you've set up a company within ClipTraining before setting them up in CloudRadial. This is what ensures that the appropriate users are accessing the appropriate courses. See this step to learn how to do this.
I've used ClipTraining before in CloudRadial, and I could have SWORN there was a different way to do it. Is that true?
- It's true - in fact, we're transitioning to the methods described in this article from a legacy method that used content packages.
