Setting up Role Assignments can be a great way to maximize the value of the portal. By dictating the exact access that users should have (via Security Roles), you can quickly disseminate the assignment of roles to users.
Read this article to learn about role assignment configuration options - specifically, Scopes, Scope Types, Roles, and Member Types - and when to apply them.

About Roles
Security Roles (also just called Roles) are what inform the actual specific permissions that users will be assigned. Once you have determined your scope type and scope, you will be able to choose the role to apply to the users using this dropdown.
It is highly recommended that you first set up your roles before working with role assignments.
About Member Types
Member Types refer to the specific classification of users. Once you've set your Scope Type, Scope, and Role, the last thing to do is to choose the users (or user groups) that will receive the role assignment.
Member Type | Scope Selection | CloudRadial Version Required |
User | List of available users filtered by your Scope Type and Scope | CSA Starter, Pro, Enterprise |
User Group | List of available user groups filtered by your Scope Type and Scope | CSA Enterprise |
