Companies using Google Workspace can still use CloudRadial for tickets and there are some special features that will enable Google Workspace to work easily.
We'll need to follow 2 steps to get the Google logins working:
- Turning on Google login
- Adding a matching domain to their company
- (Optional) Making Google users sync to the PSA
Step 1: Turning on Google Login
Why are we doing this? We first need to enable the Google login so that people have the option to choose Google when they first reach your portal.
- Navigate to Partner > Settings.
- Click on Integrations on the right-hand side under Configuration.
- Select Google on the right and turn on the Google log in option - this adds a Google option to the log in page.
Note: If you are using custom branding for a specific client, make sure it is set up there as well (Partner > Clients > Edit a client > Branding (PREVIEW):
Step 2: (Optional) Adding a Matching Domain to their Company
Why are we doing this? Before the Google login can work, you need to specify to CloudRadial which domains are tied to which company. Unlike the PSA and Office 365, which have company-specific IDs that tie them to certain companies, Google requires you to manually elect these matching domains on a per-company basis.
Note that this step is only necessary for those that DON'T have a PSA pulling in users. If your PSA already pulls in users that have the Google domains, the matching will happen automatically.
- Navigate to Partner > Clients.
- Click on the 3 blue dots next to the company that needs the Google login turned on.
- Click to Impersonate Admin (All Features).
- Go to Infrastructure > Domains.
- Click on the +Add button at the top right and add the Google domain for that company.
- This will let CloudRadial match user logins to the right company
- This will let CloudRadial match user logins to the right company
- Click Submit to lock in their domain
Step 3: (Optional) Matching Google Logins to PSA Contacts
Why are we doing this? Enabling this option gives you the power to allow anyone from the given company to log in with a Google email as long as it matches the domain established in step 2.
To ensure that they can also put in tickets, we'll need to match the CloudRadial login with a PSA account. If the Google login matches an existing PSA contacts, the contacts will merge without a problem. If a net new person not in the PSA logs in via the matched domain and tries to submit a ticket, the submission will fail.
This step ensures that new people are created in the PSA and therefore can create tickets without error.
- Navigate to Partner > Clients.
- Click on the 3 blue dots next to the company that needs the Google login turned on.
- Click Edit.
- Enable the option to Sync new logins with PSA (when users log in by matched domain) under the Synchronization options in order to make sure new Google users we see are added back to the PSA, if needed.
With these options set, Google Workspace users will have access to all CloudRadial features except those that require Office 365 such as Adoption reporting. Any user who logs in with their Google Workspace email will be added to your PSA contacts if they are not there already, if you also followed step 3.
