CloudRadial can obtain information from your Datto BCDR and display it in the portal. This shows your clients that you are performing regular backups of their data. The information shown to clients consists of, but is not limited to:
- Device Host Name(s)
- Last Backup Date
- Device Operating System
- Backup Status
- A screenshot of the latest restore test
This was formerly done by pulling in Datto’s XML feed, but since July 2023, has been updated to pull from their API. To get started with displaying this information, be sure to follow the instructions to tie your Datto BCDR key into CloudRadial and your subsequent clients.
- Step 1: Obtain Your Datto API Key
- Step 2: Connect Datto BCDR to CloudRadial
- Step 3: Tie Datto BCDR Data to a Specific Client
Step 1: Obtain Your Datto API Key
- Log into your Datto Partner portal
- Go to Admin > Integrations
- Under the API Keys tab, select the button to Create New API Key
- Give the key a descriptive name, such as CloudRadial BCDR Key
- Please note: If you select an organization, CloudRadial will only be able to see the devices for that specific organization. Be sure to leave that blank so that you can choose the org/client attribution in a later step within CloudRadial.
- Select Create Key to finalize your key and get your public/private credentials
Copy and store these keys - we will need to enter them into CloudRadial in the immediate next step.
Step 2: Connect Datto BCDR to CloudRadial
- Log into CloudRadial and navigate to Partner > Settings
- Select the Integrations option from the Configuration column on the right
- Select Datto BCDR from the choices in the Integrations column
- Check the box to Enable Datto BCDR reporting? and paste the Public/Private keys that you got from Step 1 into the appropriate boxes
- Select the Submit button to finalize the integration
With this step, you'll have connected Datto BCDR to CloudRadial. The next step is to specify which backup data goes to which client.
Step 3: Tie Datto BCDR Data to a Specific Client
- Go to Partner > Clients and select the company you want to set up for backup reporting
- Select the Edit button for that company using the 3 blue-dot menus by their name
- Choose the Integrations tab at the top
- Use the Lookup button to select the Datto hostname in the Datto BCDR Hosts field.
- You can select multiple hostnames for one client. Separate the hostnames with a comma.
-
Note- CloudRadial's Lookup will display the device name, not the company name. Be sure to take note of this from the Datto portal so you can ensure a proper match.

Once you have completed the above steps, impersonate the client admin and you'll see a new Backups option under the Security tab. This will provide the client's current backup information.
Note: Only the last 10 backups are shown.
