Once Office 365 is connected to a company within CloudRadial, CloudRadial will pull the licenses assigned to the tenant and display them under Infrastructure > Licenses.
Excluding these licenses can be helpful for multiple reasons, such as:
- Removing free licenses that otherwise clutter the list
- Removing them to avoid causing conflicts with policies
- Removing them so that users no longer sync with CloudRadial
User removal is the most common reason for license exclusion.

How Does CloudRadial Sync Licenses by Default?
By default, CloudRadial is set to sync users into the portal from Office 365 that have an active account AND have a license attached to that account.
This can potentially cause a sync of unwanted users as many O365 accounts have free/mass associated licenses attached to them, by default (such as Teams exploratory licenses)
Excluding licenses from sync will remove their attribution to a user in CloudRadial. And, if a user is left with no licenses attached to their email, they will stop syncing to the portal (unless you've enabled CloudRadial to sync users without licenses).
Note: Only users synced to CloudRadial will be displayed in the user list under any particular license.
Excluding Licenses from Sync
To exclude a license:
- Navigate to a specific company within CloudRadial
- Navigate to their Usage > Licenses section of their feature set
- Select a license that should be removed from sync
- Select Exclude from Sync at the bottom right of the specific license
The licenses will now be excluded. At a glance, you will also note which licenses have been excluded based on the Sync? column at the far right of Usage > Licenses.
To see changes take effect for licenses attributed to users, you'll need to re-sync the company with Office 365. You may do so under Usage > Users, via the Sync button at the top right.
Re-Including Licenses from Sync
To re-include a license after it's been excluded:
- Navigate to a specific company within CloudRadial
- Navigate to their Usage > Licenses section of their feature set
- Select a license that should be removed from sync
- Select Include in Sync at the bottom right of the specific license
The previously excluded licenses will now be re-included. At a glance, you will also note which licenses have been synced based on the Sync? column at the far right of Usage > Licenses.
To see changes take effect for licenses attributed to users, you'll need to re-sync the company with Office 365. You may do so under Usage > Users, via the Sync button at the top right.
