Importing assessment into CloudRadial can help speed up and scale their deployment to multiple clients within the system.
While assessments can be built and managed completely from within CloudRadial, many partners will find that working with assessments is faster in Excel. Note that currently, the only way to upload assessments into CloudRadial is via an Excel file.
In this article, we'll cover:
- Reviewing the Excel file format (with blank downloadable Excel file)
- Importing assessments
- Importing assessment templates
- Pushing assessment templates out via Partner > Content
Reviewing the Excel File Format
The Excel file uploaded into the assessments must be formatted in a particular way that maps to the available fields from within CloudRadial.
If you are pasting the Excel fields from other sources, ensure that the formatting is cleared. Uncleared formatting may cause errors during the import process, such as corrupted/garbled files.
You can get a blank Excel file for your assessment by clicking on this link.
The following table breaks down each column in the Excel file and what it controls. Fields left blank will be empty upon upload, but note that they can always be modified in system or replaced at a later time.
Note: Bolded categories are required - without them, the assessment upload will fail.
Category | The category of the question (Ex: Access Control) |
Question | The question to be answered during the assessment. |
Order |
The order in which the question should be in relation to all other questions within a category. Categories will always be alphabetically ordered - only the questions within the categories can be re-ordered. We recommend using powers of 10 for question sets (Ex. Question 1: Order 10, Question 2: Order 20, etc.). This ensures that you can inject additional questions between each question without needing to re-order questions. For categories, we recommend using numerical values to start them to avoid accidental alphabetical organization. Ex: 1. B, 2. A, 3. Z, 4. C. |
Explanation | The description that helps the client understand why the question is being asked/is necessary in the first place. |
Type |

Pushing Assessment Templates Out Via Partner > Content
There isn't currently a function to import assessment templates directly for mass deployment. As such, follow these instructions to push an assessment template out to other companies:
- Navigate to Partner > Content within your tenant
- Select the Add button at the top right
- Create a content package for Assessment Templates
- Ensure that the name of the content package is as you like - it will be reflected with the same name in Compliance > Assessments > Templates.
Once the content package has been created, follow these steps to complete the process:
- Head to any company's Compliance > Assessments area.
- Upload your Excel file into the Templates tab (follow the step listed above if necessary).
- Once the assessment template has been added, select the assessment to open the question view.
- You can also use the 3 blue dot menu by the assessment template and select Open to the same effect.
- Click on the orange Save As button and save the assessment template into the content package created earlier.
- Now the assessment template will be listed within the folder created previously in Partner > Content. You will need to Publish the content package to any company that should see it.
- Repeat this process for any template that you need to distribute to other companies.
