CloudRadial is underway with a new method of handling Bigger Brains courses.
This method will ultimately improve and expedite the way that you, as a CloudRadial Partner, can add, manage, and serve Bigger Brains courses to end users.
Why the Transition is Necessary
When we first partnered with Bigger Brains as a training provider, we started with a much lower volume of courses that was manageable for Partners to add to their portal and keep up-to-date with quarterly additions.
As our partnership evolved, Bigger Brains courses grew in length and improved in quality. These changes made updating courses within CloudRadial's content system more difficult and tedious. As a result, we knew we had to rethink the method to deploy these courses with the best possible user experience for both Partners and their clients alike.
Legacy Method
The legacy method involves getting a package of Bigger Brains courses and requires Partners to deploy them to specific clients.
As new courses were released by Bigger Brains, we would notify Partners of the new additions (quarterly) and we would have them add them to their existing Bigger Brains course package. These courses are embedded and framed directly within CloudRadial's course library.
-
The Positives: This was a repeatable, reliable process that kept courses from Bigger Brains in the same area as other courses (within University > Courses).
- The Challenges: This was tedious for Partners to keep up with, and it would require manual work to get the courses up-to-date with Bigger Brain's latest standards. Is also meant pushing a lot of content throughout the portal, which could even affect performance.
SSO Method
The single sign-on (SSO) method involves giving users direct access to Bigger Brains from within CloudRadial. This method completely bypasses the content package deployment method, which means less content to manage.
It also means that Partners do not have to be aware of new courses, as they will appear automatically within a user's portal when they visit their training link. This opens up a new window directly into Bigger Brain's learning management system.
-
The Positives: This is easier and a set-and-forget method of accessing courses. It's easier, faster, and more responsive and still gives users the most updated catalog of courses without any effort from you as a Partner.
-
The Challenges: As of February 2025, this method doesn't retain course tracking information within CloudRadial. The courses and their completion are tracked within Bigger Brains.
The SSO approach, in its current state, retains the training completion of Bigger Brains courses solely within thier platform. Training completion data is still logged but isn't reflected inside CloudRadial (yet).
This is temporary as we continue to develop and finalize the Bigger Brains revamped integration.
Future Development
As of February 2025, CloudRadial is developing an API to the training tracking module. This will allow Bigger Brains and other training providers to write in user training completion data back into CloudRadial seamlessly.
We also plan to frame the Bigger Brains courses into CloudRadial so that the experience is more seamless. This will help users feel a consistent experience in the portal from every area of access.
