Managing your knowledge base

Knowledge in CloudRadial AutomationAI is a folder tree of documents your automations can read and write. Agents and AI Prompt nodes can be grounded on it for context, and playbooks use it to store what they learn. This article covers creating and organizing your knowledge base on the Knowledge page. It is for workspace users who build automations (Admin or Owner Role).

What Knowledge Is

A knowledge base is a set of documents organized into folders. Automations read from it to reason with your own context — runbooks, policies, product notes, prior decisions — and can write back to it. Because Knowledge is stored per workspace, it stays private to your workspace.

The Knowledge Page

Open Knowledge in the sidebar to reach the Knowledge page (/knowledge). It's a two-pane layout: a folder-and-document tree on one side and the selected document on the other. The divider between the panes is resizable. Selecting a document opens it for viewing, and you can switch it into edit mode to change its contents.

Working with Folders

Folders group related documents and can be nested. From the Knowledge page you can:

• Create a folder
• Rename a folder
• Move a folder to a different parent
• Delete a folder

Each action opens a short guided dialog. Top-level folders have a second role — they act as workspaces for playbooks (see below).

Working with Documents

Documents hold the actual content. From the tree you can create, rename, move, and delete a document the same way you manage folders. Select a document to view it; switch to edit mode to change the body and save. AutomationAI renders each document according to its format.

Supported Document Formats

A knowledge document can be one of the following formats:

• Markdown
• HTML
• CSV
• Plain text

Each format is displayed and edited appropriately for its type.

Smart Paste

When you paste HTML content (for example, from a web page or a document) into a markdown document, AutomationAI converts it to clean markdown for you. This happens in the editor without any extra step.

How Folders Become Workspaces

Each top-level Knowledge folder doubles as a workspace. A playbook can be given a home workspace, which is where it assembles its briefing before each run and writes a journal entry after each run. On the Playbooks board, each top-level folder appears as its own column. Organizing your top-level folders by area of work therefore also organizes your playbooks.
