Strategic Direction
This month, our development team has focused on strengthening our security infrastructure, enhancing integration with Microsoft Teams for our new CSA-integrated Chat feature, and addressing critical PSA integration issues.
We've also made significant progress in our technical infrastructure modernization to improve system stability and performance.
For the upcoming period, our team is focusing on:

Authentication Modernization. We're implementing OIDC (OpenID Connect) authentication and creating an application configuration service to enhance security and improve the login experience across the platform.

Teams Integration. We're expanding our Microsoft Teams integration capabilities with new tab functionality for Chat, allowing for seamless communication between CloudRadial CSA (and Portal 365) and Teams.
- PSA Integration Reliability. We're updating our PSA integration components, particularly Autotask integration, which is being transitioned from SOAP to REST API to accommodate their service retirement plans.

Feature and Feature Updates

Teams App Integration for Chat - We've created a Teams App Manifest with new tab functionality for Chat, allowing users to access and interact with CloudRadial Chat directly within Microsoft Teams. This enhancement streamlines communication workflows and keeps conversations in one place.

Endpoint Warranty Management - Added the ability to update endpoint warranties at the Partner > Company level, providing more flexibility in managing device warranty information across your client base.

Validated Chat in Desktop App - Completed validation of the integrated Chat functionality in the Desktop App, ensuring a consistent chat experience across all access points of the CloudRadial platform.

Enhanced Monitoring with App Insights - Set up Application Insights for our authentication server and added improved logging for Compliance Assessment details, providing better visibility into system performance and user behavior for eventual reporting and analytics for Partners to see.

Application Configuration Service - Created a new application configuration service that will centralize configuration management, making the system more maintainable and enabling faster updates to system settings.
Bug Fixes

PSA Integration (Bug Fix) - Resolved multiple issues with PSA integrations, including problems with Autotask ticket categories, ConnectWise field routing, Kaseya policy tickets, and Halo ticket viewing. Fixed issues where advisory notifications weren't being created when tickets failed to submit, and addressed the Autotask SOAP service retirement.

Chat Functionality (Bug Fix) - Fixed several issues with the new Chat feature, including problems where the chat widget wasn't visible for non-partner users, companies having chat enabled despite unchecked settings, and inability to save channel IDs at the company level.

Storefront (Bug Fix) - Resolved a 400 error that occurred when creating a new company/client in Storefront, and fixed integration sorting in the available integrations list.

Security (Bug Fix) - Addressed a critical security issue where the API key for WisePay was displayed in plain text, and fixed the long-lived JWT issue to enhance overall system security.

Report Generation (Bug Fix) - Fixed issues with report archives not sending alert emails for CA-region portals, resolved PostReportFolderAlertJob crashes on deleted companies, and corrected assessment report calculation problems.

User Interface (Bug Fix) - Addressed various UI issues, including problems with localization, planner loading indicators not appearing in Teams dark mode, and policy type and policy not being visible due to UI color issues.

System Performance (Bug Fix) - Fixed the CompanyLog deletion process that was loading all entities and consuming excessive server memory, resolved random execution timeout errors occurring for many partners, and fixed the Infrastructure > Network page loading failure with 30+ IDs.
Performance Improvements

Infrastructure Modernization (Performance Improvement) - Retired Hangfire config and connection string environment variables, cleaned up DV settings, and continued our technical infrastructure modernization efforts.

Code Quality Improvements (Performance Improvement) - Completed ticket methods cleanup, broke out Endpoint DTOs for better organization, and combined methods in CatalogController to reduce code duplication and improve maintainability.

Database Optimization (Performance Improvement) - Removed unused and obsolete tables, reducing database size and improving query performance across the platform.

Feature Flag Management (Performance Improvement) - Removed old feature flags that were no longer needed, streamlining our codebase and reducing complexity.

Localization Enhancement (Performance Improvement) - Re-examined translation tags to exclude content from being translated, ensuring that technical terms and proper nouns remain consistent across all language versions.
Coming Soon
Our authentication modernization initiative continues with a full implementation of OIDC (OpenID Connect) for more secure and streamlined user authentication. We're also working on completing the transition from Autotask SOAP API to REST API ahead of their service retirement schedule. These improvements will enhance security, reliability, and performance across the platform.
